Not since 2000's summer release of "Country Grammar"
has their been a "party starting" artist like C.L. (The Chosen Leader).
C.L., also known as Young Dot or just Dot, is an up and coming artist out of Orlando,
FL. Born and raised in Orlando, C.L. grew up as a huge fan of music...rap
specifically. His favorite artist as a youngster was none other than
M.C.Hammer. As he grew older, his taste in music began to broaden. Dot began
to listen to the likes of LL Cool J, 2-Pac, Snoop Dogg and Bone Thugs -N- Harmony which
ultimately became his favorite group and a huge reason he raps today.
With a heavy catalog of music, and a growing passion for the
art...it wasn't his idea initially to become a rapper. C.L. was 14 years old when he
first began to rap, at the request of a long time friend. They started a rap group
called "Souls of Fury", and Dot hasn't looked back since.
Now at the fresh age of 21, C.L. is emerging as a well skilled
and well respected solo artist. His style, mostly described as a cross between Jay-Z
and Nelly, has become a trademark for him. His up-tempo, party laced themes and his
"Ladies' Man" persona on the mic, has captured the attention of young women
everywhere. With a few hit records under his belt, "Comere Girl",
"Boyfriend", "Tonight" and the most recent "Right There",
C.L. is ready for the world.
With a new single in hand ("Check") and a new deal with
Tone Struck Records (which has partnered with Warner Brothers), C.L. is just a blink away
from stardom. With the wit and word-play of a Jay-Z or Ludacris, Dot *CAN* become
one of the greats of his time. But with his commercial appeal and female friendly
records...Dot *WILL* become a bonafide star.
